Killzone2 Beta Confirmed For 2008

Warhawk: Omega Dawn coming in December

Sony has confirmed that the rumored PS3 Warhawk expansion “Omega Dawn” will be coming in December, adding in the game-changing dropship, along with the largest map Warhawk has seen yet.

“”with Operation: Omega Dawn, the war between the Eucadians and the Chernovans forces continues as the two countries fight to control the high-tech facilities of a critical new battlefield – the Omega Factory. The battle takes place in an entirely new world – an industrial night-time setting where players will fight through five new layouts of advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers.”

Deus Ex 3 Announced

Eidos has opened a new Montreal studio, with one of its top focuses to be the development of the new Deus Ex game. No platforms have been announced, however a safe bet would be to presume it will get a PC release, due to the origins of past Deus Ex games.

Unreal Tournament 3 PS3 Gold

Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 has gone gold and approved by SCEA, has now been sent to manufacturing to be released before Christmas in the US. A European release is targetted for early 2008, however the game will be region free for any other regions to import.

Mobile game in sex and drugs shame!

This article is just too good to try and summarize so I will quote the good parts in their full glory.

If you want to sell lots of copies of a game, try to anger some loudmouthed family campaigners. That’s the rule of thumb in the console industry, where shrill media scare often equals big sales.

We haven’t seen the same thing happen in mobile yet (although that may change if a publisher takes a punt on our Crack-Fueled Illegal Immigrant House-Price-Collapse puzzle game – the Daily Mail won’t be able to resist).

It’s kicking off Down Under though, thanks to a game called Coolest Girl in School. The Family Association has condemned it for allegedly encouraging teenage girls to “take drugs and have sex”.

I’m pretty sure little Christie’s friends were already encouraging her to have sex, if they weren’t then the boys at school certainly were.

We assume it’s this game from Kukan Studio, produced with mobile content firm Champagne For The Ladies. Their own blurb describes it as “Grand Theft Auto for Girls”, and promises:

“Experiment with fashion! Experiment with drugs! Experiment with your sexuality! Cut class! Spread rumors! But try to avoid dying of embarrassment – literally!”

Rumor: Wal-mart “Secret Sale” on PlayStation 3

A sneaky poster on the blu-ray.com forums who claims to be a Wal-Mart employee says that Wal-Mart will be holding a surprise secret sale on the PS3 that gives you an 80GB PS3 and 10 free Blu-Ray movies (that are a maximum of $30 value) at the time of purchase for $499 USD, this offer does not affect the buyers ability to collect on the 5 free Blu-Ray movies currently being offered to PlayStation 3 buyers by the Blu-Ray Disk Association.
